The 2010 ORSO Annual Workshop was held in Hamilton, Ontario on the weekend of Nov. 6th & 7th at Sherwood Secondary School.
It was a very busy and productive weekend.
The ORSO Skills Sessions were attended by approximately 134 jump rope athletes from 7 Ontario Competitive Jump Rope and 2 school teams. Our Lead Instructors for the Jumper Skill Sessions were from the Heartbeats of Ohio. Ontario provided approximately 15 Intermediate and Senior Competitive jumpers to assist our U.S. Instructors with the Skill sessions.

Stouffville Steppers (Stouffville)
Sunnybrae Public School (Innisfil)
In addition to the jumper skill sessions, Speed, Creativity and Difficulty Judging Clinics were offered throughout the weekend. A new addition to the workshop schedule this year was a Technical Committee Training session. Thank you to Don Bruce (BAR) and Brad Ciancio (LL) for running the Judges and Technical Committee Clinics and training our judges.
Competitive Jumpers compete at the Regional, Provincial, National and Worlds Levels. Ontario teams attend workshops, camps and competitions in the U.S. and have competed at the U.S. Junior Olympics. Jumpers are judged on speed and freestyle routines. Parent support is a vital part of the sport. Parents attend judging clinics to become certified to score our athletes on their routines at competitions.
A special thank you to Ryan, Kayle, Autumn, Jessica and Cheri from the Heartbeats of Ohio for taking a weekend of their time to provide Instruction at our skills workshop.
