There are various ways to travel to the Birch ( assuming you are coming from the south ). Check below for details. |
Location / Directions
a) Scenic Route: Via 400 North to Barrie and continue via #11 to Gravenhurst. Turn on to 169 which takes you through Gravenhurst and continue through Bala and on to Glen Orchard. There, look for 118 to Port Carling. Just prior to Port Carling, look for Muskoka Road 7 leading to Port Sandfield and Minett. This is shown above where Medora Street meets #7. Just prior to Minett and about 5 km past Port Sandfield, look for Woodington Road on the right. Travel along it about 1 km turning right at the first fork, then turn left into the first driveway identified with the Green Emergency number of 1059. The "Birch" is on the right, the first one you come to.
b) Alternate Scenic Route: Via 400 north to Barrie, continue along #11 until you reach Bracebridge. Turn into Bracebridge, looking to stay on #118 into Port Carling. Just past Port Carling along Medora Road, look for Muskoka Road #7 and turn right to procede north. leading to Port Sandfield and Minett. This is shown above where Medora Street meets #7. Just prior to Minett and about 5 km past Port Sandfield, look for Woodington Road on the right. Travel along it about 1 km turning right at the first fork, then turn left into the first driveway identified with the Green Emergency number of 1059. The "Birch" is on the right, the first one you come to.
c) Quickest and Shortest Route: Via 400 north and just past Barrie, continue on 400 N leading to Sudbury. Continue past Port Severn and Honey Harbour until you reach Foots Bay. Look for #169 South to Bala. When you travel about 23 km and approach Glen Orchard, turn left at 118 to Port Carling. Proceed as per a) above.If traveling in from Sudbury, come down 400 South and at Foots Bay, turn left onto #169 leading to Bala and proceed to Hwg. 118 . There, look for 118 to Port Carling. Just prior to Port Carling along Medora Road, look for Muskoka Road 7 north, leading to Port Sandfield and Minett. Just prior to Minett and about 5 km past Port Sandfield, look for Woodington Road on the right. Travel along it about 1 km turning right at the first fork, then turn left into the first driveway identified with the Green Emergency number of 1059. The "Birch" is on the right, the first one you come to.
d) If traveling from the North Bay or Ottawa route via #60, take #11 south past Huntsville and continue until you reach Bracebridge or Gravenhurst. Proceed as per a) for Gravenhurst or b) as per Bracebridge.
OR
Cut off at the Muskoka Road #3 leading to Rosseau. Continue south from Rosseau along Penninsula Road #7, and procede 1 km past Minett, turning left at Woodington Road. Travel along it about 1 km turning right at the first fork, then turn left into the first driveway identified with the Green Emergency number of 1059. The "Birch" is on the right, the first one you come to.
