JANUARY
UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH PRESIDENTS’ SCHOLARSHIPS If you are intending on applying to the University of Guelph and have a high academic average (90% +), have made significant contributions to school and community, and if you can demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society, you may seek a nomination for the Presidents’ Scholarship at the University of Guelph. See a guidance counsellor if you wish to be considered for a nomination (maximum two nominees). There are 8 awards available valued at $32,000.00 over four years.

LINCOLN ALEXANDER CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIPS
The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the criteria of the President’s Scholarship Awards, have a minimum 90% average and are members of a visible minority, have a disability, or who are Aboriginal. See a guidance counsellor if you wish to be nominated (one nomination per school) There are two awards worth $32,000.00 over four years

TOP 20 UNDER 20 NATIONAL AWARDS AND MENTORING PROGRAM
Top 20 Under 20 provides 20 awards valued at $2,000.00 each for youth under the age of twenty who have demonstrated significant levels of innovation, leadership and achievement, in all disciplines and fields. Although school marks play a SMALL role in the decision, the committee is looking for well-rounded individuals, and therefore places the most emphasis on demonstrable innovation, leadership, and achievement.
Additionally, Top 20 Under 20 is “not JUST an award”, and in keeping with Youth in Motion's mission, this program also matches each award recipient with current community leaders in a mentorship relationship for a full year. A five day leadership summit and monthly conference calls with industry leaders are just further special features of this unique program.

FUTURE ACES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation offers scholarships to students from across Canada who exhibit exemplary citizenship qualities and who are n need of financial assistance to further their educational goals. Students must meet the following criteria to apply:
- be a Canadian resident
- be pursuing post-secondary education or training
- be between the ages of 16 and 24
- meet the service and financial criteria
There are 30 awards available at $1,000 each.

FEBRUARY
TERRY FOX HUMANITARIAN AWARD
In keeping with the spirit of his achievements, the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award program is intended to encourage Canadian youth to seek the high ideals represented by Terry Fox by the granting of commemorative awards for the pursuit of higher education.
This award is renewable, subject to satisfactory progress, and is tenable at any Canadian university or college. The value of each award is up to $7,000.00 annually, for a maximum of four years. Approximately 20 awards are granted each year.
Demonstration of the highest ideals and qualities of citizenship will be criteria for the recipients. Further relevant qualities are courage in overcoming obstacles, involvement in humanitarian service and participation in sport, fitness and community service.
Application forms, complete with supporting documents must be post-marked by February 1 of each year.

KIN CANADA BURSARIES
"In memory of the Association's founder, who passed away in September 1994 at the age of 95, Kin Canada established the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, the purpose of which is to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities. Kin Canada Bursaries, a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, provides financial assistance to eligible persons in their quest for higher learning." Twenty-eight applicants will be selected to receive $1,000 each.

RBC ROYAL BANK SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The RBC Royal Bank Scholarship Awards are designed for "well-rounded, creative students who are passion driven and who want to make a difference". Applicants must be in their graduating year of high school and be enrolled in full-time studies in a publicly funded Canadian university or college in the Fall 2010 academic term. There are six awards of $10,000 each (two have been created specifically for RBC Royal Bank student clients).

BURGER KING SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Burger King Scholars Program, valued at $1,000, was established to assist students who work part-time and excel academically. Applicants do NOT have to be employees of Burger King to be considered for this award. One high school senior from our school can be nominated. The student must have a cumulative high school average of at least 75%, work an average of at least 15 hours per week, for 40 weeks a year, demonstrate participation in community service and co-curricular activities, demonstrate financial need and plan to enroll in an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school by the fall.

ZONTA CLUB OF GUELPH SCHOLARSHIP
The Zonta Club of Guelph offers a $1,000 scholarship to a young woman from the Guelph-Wellington area who is a pre-university or pre-college student (age 16 - 20). The Zonta Club is looking for young women who demonstrate the following: - evidence of commitment to volunteerism - evidence of volunteer leadership achievements - evidence of international awareness - evidence of dedication to advancingg the status of women worldwide

J.V. FINDLAY SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship, worth $1,000 is administered by the Industrial Accident Prevention Association in the name of our former Executive Vice President and General Manager.
The intent of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue full time studies at an Ontario university or college of applied arts and technology in occupational health and safety, the workplace environment or a related program, which will lead to improvements in health and safety for the workers of Ontario. Applicants must be residents of Ontario.

UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN ONTARIO NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM “National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. They are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance (minimum 90% average in all 4U/M courses) to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate's commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.” The National Scholarship Program will offer gifted young people up to 76 scholarships including the President’s Entrance Scholarship, the Faculty Entrance Scholarship and the National Merit Award.
See your guidance counsellor if you wish to be considered for this scholarship program. You must have Western as one of your choices on your OUAC application. A maximum of three nominations per school will be accepted.
Applications must be received by the University of Western Ontario before February 14, 2010.

TOYOTA EARTH DAY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program encourages and rewards Canadian graduating high school students who have distinguished themselves through environmental community service, extracurricular and volunteer activities, and academic excellence. The Program grants 20 awards of $5,000.00 to be applied directly towards tuition, books, room and board or other educational expenses for the first year of post-secondary full-time studies in Canada.

MARCH
THE MILLER THOMSON FOUNDATION NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
The Miller Thomson Foundation National Scholarship has been created by the law firm of Miller Thomson. The purpose of the foundation is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher education goals for individuals who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, have made a positive contribution to their school through extracurricular activities and have made significant contributions of time and energy to community service programs. Contributions to the community can be demonstrated by involvement in local clubs, organizations and community activities.

GARFIELD WESTON MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR COLLEGES (GWMSC)
The GWMSC is designed to recognize outstanding college students who show a strong commitment to their field of study and are interested in making positive contributions to their communities. In order to be eligible for a GWMSC entrance award, a student must:
• be a Canadian citizen
• be presently completing secondary school
• be entering his of her first year of full time studies in the fall leading to a diploma or applied degree
• be entering college studies of at least sixteen months in duration with a 100% full-time course load
• have a minimum average of 75% in courses required for college program of choice

SPIRITUAL WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP The Spiritual Warrior Scholarship awards are presented by the HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre to honour the memory of one of its founding members, Dan Blasutti. There are three awards given each year to students planning to attend their first year at a post-secondary school. The awards are $2,000 each, and are available to individuals living, working, or attending secondary school in Waterloo Region, Upper Grand, and Wellington Catholic District School Boards.
Each year, the Spiritual Warrior Scholarship awards recognize young Canadians who demonstrate qualities that best capture the spirit of Dan Blasutti ... creative, inspirational and community-minded.

APRIL
RBC $5,000 SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
RBC will provide a scholarship award to one male Grade 12 student and one female Grade 12 student from Guelph and surrounding communities. This is a renewable award, up to $5000, if an overall average of 70% is maintained over four academic years. To be eligible for this award, you must:
• be a 2009 - 2010 registered player in Minor Hockey or High School Hockey
• be a Grade 12 student graduating in June 2010
• be planning full-time attendance at an accredited Canadian University or College starting no later than
September 2009
• have a minimum 70% (B) average at mid-term in Grade 12
• have no game misconduct penalties during the current season

THE ROGER NEILSON/TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association, have supported OFSAA and the student-athletes of the province since 2001.
The Roger Neilson/Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Scholarship Award is awarded each year to four student athletes that will be continuing their post secondary education. Two males and two females are awarded separate scholarships in the amounts of $10,000 each spread out over four yearly payments of $2,500. In addition to these four recipients, the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association also offers one-time bursaries of $1,000 to four additional scholarship finalists.

RETAIL AS A CAREER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
There will be approximately twenty-six scholarships available: one $5,000 Interac Scholarships and twenty-five $1,000.00 scholarships for students entering a retail or business related program at college or university. Eligible students must also be working at least part-time in retail.

WALLY SCOTT BURSARY - ONTARIO MINOR HOCKEY FOUNDATION
The Wally Scott Bursary is given in recognition of outstanding commitment to community service, athletics, and academics. This bursary reflects the achievements of a young hockey player who is committed to his or her community, athletic ability, and academic achievement. Each recipient can receive up to $2,500 towards his or her post-secondary education. There will be a maximum of two bursary winners awarded per year. Bursary amounts are subject to change depending on donations. Bursaries will be issued to the applicant’s post-secondary institution.
This bursary is available to individuals aged up to 20 years and been registered members of the OMHA for a minimum of 5 years. They should maintain a high standard of academic excellence and be active in their local community programs.

AIRD SCHOLARSHIP
The Aird Scholarship is intended to help students with physical disabilities to study full time at a recognized Ontario post-secondary institution. It is hoped that the award will encourage a special talent or lifelong interest.
The scholarship is granted each year to two applicants who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement, motivation, and initiative. Each successful applicant receives $2,500.
To be eligible, you must
• have a physical disability
• be a Canadian citizen
• be an Ontario resident
• plan to register in Sept 2010 in the first year of either an undergraduate degree program at a recognized Ontario university or a two or three year diploma program at college.

THE ONTARIO KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BURSARY PROGRAM
Ten $500.00 bursaries will be awarded by the Ontario Knights of Columbus. Candidates eligible for an Ontario Knights of Columbus Bursary are
(i) A member of the Knights of Columbus of Ontario in good standing
(ii) The wife, son or daughter of a member in good standing
(iii) The wife, son or daughter of a deceased member in good standing at the time of
his death
(iv) A grandchild who is the legal ward of a member in good standing
Candidates must have applied for admission into a full-time program at university or college in Ontario
Marks, although important, will not be the only criteria used by the evaluating committee. Proven financial need and service to church and community will be heavily weighted.
Applications are also available through guidance. The final date to submit applications in 2008 - 2009 was April 10th.

WHIPPER BILLY WATSON EDUCATION BURSARY This bursary has been established to assist students with physical disabilities in full-time study at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology. Bursaries, in the amount of $2000 are granted each year to one male and one female applicant who demonstrate potential for studies at the community college level.
Applicants must
• be a Canadian citizen and intend on registering in the first year of a college program in 2009.
• have a physical disability which severely restricts their physical activities
• have demonstrated commitment to academic study
• have demonstrated leadership and community service
• have participated in extra-curricular activities

ONTARIO HOSTELRY INSTITUTE AWARDS
The Ontario Hostelry Institute provides eight prestigious Student Awards valued at $2000 each to those individuals applying to college for culinary, tourism, food and beverage, resort, hotel, hospitality. Selection criteria includes: work experience, extra-curricular activities, academic record, and letters of recommendation.

THE ONTARIO HOCKEY FEDERATION BURSARY PROGRAM
The OHF Bursary Program was introduced in 1997 to recognize and reward dedication in education and hockey. To be eligible a candidate must: be registered in good standing for 3 years within the OHF in any
capacity, be registered during the current season, maintained clear academic status and be
enrolling in a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. "Note: 40% of overall total score will come from school related submissions while the remaining 60% will come from personal contribution to hockey and the community."
Information and application forms for the 2010 OHF Bursary Program will be available in February. Applications in 2008 - 2009 were due in late April.

MAY
RBC ROYAL BANK FINANCIAL LIFESKILLS SCHOLARSHIPS
RBC Royal Bank Financial Lifeskills Scholarships are designed for students in any stream pursuing studies in any field. We're looking to honour hard work, innovation and solid career direction. To be eligible, students require a minimum grade average of 65 per cent and acceptance into a Canadian college or university for full-time study in the Fall/Winter session. Ten awards of $2,010 will be distributed to students across the country.

THE MAURICE IZZARD MEMORIAL AWARD
This award will benefit a student with a physical disability who plans to pursue post secondary education at university or college in the fall. The value of this award is $500.

THE OBCL : EPILEPSY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Epilepsy Scholarship Awards will help young people living with epilepsy across Ontario continue their community or university studies. Each of the winners will receive an award worth $1,000 applicable to their 2009 academic year. The scholarship award program is open to all young people between the ages of 16 and 29, who are under the care of a Canadian physician for the treatment of epilepsy.

JUNE
BRIAN MAXWELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Brian Maxwell Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to two student athletes that will be continuing their post secondary education at a Canadian College or University. One male and one female are awarded separate scholarships in the amounts of $5,000 each.
Preference shall be given to a student whose character is reflective of qualities that Brian Maxwell demonstrated in his life: honesty, integrity, compassion and an unwavering quest to accomplish the best he could academically and athletically while supporting his fellow team members.

ONTARIO TEACHERS INSURANCE PROGRAM (OTIP) BURSARY
The OTIP Bursary program promotes post-secondary education for the children of our insured members by investing in their future. To be eligible a parent or guardian must be insured through an individual or group policy of an insurance plan or program provided by OTIP. As well, the applicant must be a full-time post-secondary student at a Canadian college or university for the upcoming academic year. Twelve bursaries of $1,500 each are available to be won.
