DEVILS NEWS
Devils retire Kody Kirton's #4

From the time that Kody was young he would watch the Devils' games and say he wanted to play for them. Now he has been on the team for seven years! He is the only player that has and, providing the rules stay as they are, will ever accomplish this.
Throughout these seven years Kody has always made the team his priority. He rarely missed a game or practice. He also took it upon himself to ensure players who did not have a ride to the arena made it there by having his Dad pick them up or, later, picking them up himself, even if they lived out of town.
If a Devils player was needed for an event Kody made the time to be there. He has been the team's representative reading at schools, for skate with the Devils, as well as at minor hockey camps and clinics. Every year Kody has helped with team fundraising events such as YukYuks, the golf tournament, the truck show, dances, and pack the rink night, as well as selling season passes, hockey pools, poinsettias and boxed meat. Kody also organizes the team warm-up suit sales each season. He has done everything from washing the socks and jerseys to being an ambassador for the team everywhere he has gone.
All this was done while going to school and working. Every big decision Kody made over the past seven years was made based on how it would affect the Devils. He chose to attend the University of Waterloo and live at home so that he could keep playing for his hometown team. Kody has worn the Devils' logo with pride and the team has been proud to be associated with him.
To commemorate his seven years of dedication to the Fergus Devils Junior "C" Hockey Club, Kody's number four is being retired. Congratulations Kody!
